WASHINGTON, DC—October 6, 2004— Pivotal Insight, a business research and intelligence firm delivering timely research and services addressing specific business and technology challenges facing the public sector, announced today it was awarded a sub-contract by the National Academy of Public Administration (Academy) to jointly support the Office of Strategic Planning for the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition (ASN (RD&A)). Under this contract, valued at $422,000, Pivotal Insight will work with an Academy Panel to provide strategic advisory and research services to the Office of Strategic Planning. Under this sub-contract, Pivotal will help the Navy to develop a systematic approach for reviewing, consolidating, and optimizing existing management information systems used by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (RD&A) into a coherent Performance Management Program that aligns with current ASN (RD&A) and Department of the Navy (DoN) performance management efforts and support strategic planning and performance measurement activities with the Office of Program Assessments (OPA), the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and other Government and Defense agencies as required. The Pivotal Insight team will lend its expertise and extensive experience in acquisition and strategic management to this very important project. The Navy is one of the largest acquisition and life-cycle management organizations in the world.
