Communicates accomplishments: To transform while performing, successful executives constantly inform their executive peers about achievements and issues. Strategic plans are best-practice artifacts that communicate value and alignment.
Establishes and focuses on priorities: Clearly defines the organization's mission/value and establishes realistic goals/objectives consistent with that mission in a specified time frame and within the organization's capacity for implementation.
Integrates and coordinates: Probably the best way to communicate goals and objectives to those within the organization. The planning process also facilitates communication and understanding which otherwise may not occur.
Stimulates community spirit and accomplishment: Creates a culture of anticipation and innovation rather than one of reaction and defensiveness.
